Welcome to our napkinplan!

img_0596I’m Gabby and last year two years ago, J and I, after 7 years in London, sat in Ca’puccino at the Westfield and scribbled some life ideas on the back of a paper napkin.

Now we’ve embarked on our travelling adventure and we’re in Dublin Tokyo New Zealand at the moment. We still keep that napkin for our plans in the future but on here we’ll be blogging about where we’ve been, what’s been good to do, eat or drink and things we’ve enjoyed doing along the way.

I hope reading the blog will give you a snapshot – probably snapshots (I like photos) – of our time in different places and that if you choose to visit some of them, you’ll find some use and fun in the fruits of our doodle.

About Gabby…

I grew up in Surrey, England, riding horses and singing and acting at performing art school. When I grew up I developed a love for cooking, travelling and blogging!

When I was in Dublin I did a professional cookery course which I loved and I would like to continue those studies one day.

My favourite holiday I’ve ever been on is Iceland but my favourite travelling destination is Tokyo!

About James…

Born in France, I grew up on great food but I also learnt about the importance of a good cup of tea!

Consequently, with a foot in two cultures, I have loved the freedom that comes with being a European citizen.

Through travelling, I have experienced just how much modern technology, both of communication and transport, has created an opportunity for an open world. I’m now convinced it’s our generation’s responsibility to make sure we use this connection to share the best of what humans have to offer.

    Dear Gabby,

My name is Joyce and I work for ExpatFinder.com.
ExpatFinder.com is a free one stop website for people preparing to move or working and living overseas. We provide a myriad of services for expatriates and we have over 2,000 articles to help and support the people moving around the world and we are now creating an interview section to help the expats with real life experiences!
We quite enjoy your blog about living in Japan, it is very interesting and informative. Would it be possible to interview you to further share some of your tips and feature some of your first hand experience as an Expat and your interview will be published on our Expat Interview section as a guide for our expat readers. The questions are mainly about the day to day lifestyle of an expat. If it would be possible, could you also send some photographs that we can use?
Of course, if you accept, we can add a link to your blog or some of your website.
The questions are enclosed, feel free to respond freely. You can return the doc with your answers if you accept this invitation.
Thanks in advance and do let me know if you prefer other means to conduct this interview and we would be happy to accommodate your terms.

    Best regards,
